Iran Launches Massive Missile Attack on US Bases in Bahrain; Hormuz Closure Raises Global Alarm (X)
Washington: Iran has launched its largest-ever counterattack in response to two major airstrikes carried out by the United States on Wednesday. Tehran claimed that on Thursday, Iran launched the largest and deadliest attack yet on US military bases in Bahrain, sending shockwaves across the Middle East.
Statements from Iranian military commanders and the official media, clearly indicate that this war could escalate to any lengths. Brigadier General Mohebbi, spokesperson and acting head of public relations for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), issued an open warning to the United States.
The IRGC said, "The enemy (US) must not make the mistake of thinking that it can drag this conflict out at will and turn it into a 'war of attrition'. Iran's current military operations are completely focused on destroying US offensive military infrastructure and bases in the Gulf region. Once this task is completed, our next destructive phase will begin."
Meanwhile, Iran Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Akrami-Nia has adopted a very strict stance regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global trade. He has made it clear that this international waterway will remain completely closed until the US agrees to Iran's three key conditions.
Under these conditions, to reopen Hormuz, the US will have to abide by the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran, stop hostile activities and implement Iranian laws.
Iran maintains that the US must abide by the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries, cease its hostile actions, and enforce Iranian laws. Without these conditions, no ships will be allowed to pass through the waterway. This major attack in Bahrain and Iran's tightening siege have sent shockwaves through the US and its allies, and the global oil market is on the verge of a complete crash.
